Description nr.: 2008481.
Built by: E.F. Walcker & Cie. (1956) - opus 3340
- In 1891 the Rieger company built a three-manual concert organ with 40 stops in the Stadtsaal in Innsbruck. It was lost to acts of war on December 16, 1944. After the construction of a new Saal at Universitätsstrasse 1, the Walcker company delivered a new organ in 1955-1956. Consultant was Alois Forer in collaboration with music director Rapf from Innsbruck.
- After a last concert on January 14, 2015, the organ was dismantled. The Stadtsaal was then closed and demolished. The organ has been sold and was reconstruced in 2016 in the Katholische Pfarrkirche Sankt Josef der Arbeiter in Ötztal-Bahnhof. This church was built in the years 1962-1964.
