Built by: Builder unknown (ca. 1430)
In 1721 the Evangelische Gemeinde in Ostönnen bought an old organ from the church Alt Sankt-Thomae in Soest. This organ was rebuilt by Johann Patroclus Möller and installed in the choir of the church. It was inaugurated on November 10, 1722. Under the advice of Rudolf Reuter, the instrument was restored in 1962-1963 by the firm Paul Ott. The organ is still completely preserved in the condition of 1722. The instrument was restored again in 2003 by Rowan West. Research during this restoration has shown that the organ must be much older than had been assumed for a long time. Until then it was dated to 1620-1625, but it is probably from about 1430. This makes it one of the oldest organs in the world.
