1962 Oskar Metzler & Söhne342b restauration

  • Josef Bossart and his son Victor Ferdinand built two choir organs for the monastery church in Muri in the years 1743/1744, simultaneously with the rebuild of the main organ. The Epistel organ was installed on the south side of the choir. In 1840 Friedrich Haas revised the instrument. He altered the disposition of the Epistel organ, and he installed the Flauto 4' from the main organ in the Epistel organ.
  • The instrument was maintained until 1841, after which it was decommissioned. However, because it remained present, it was able to be restored by the Metzler company in 1962. The original disposition has hereby been restored. The organ originally had an attached pedal with three independent stops. However, the coupling mechanism was rendered inoperative during the restoration. Remarkable is the separate chest for the tones cis'''-f''', which seems to be original.
