1987 Builder unknown  rebuild

  • One of the last large organs of Aeolian-Skinner was delivered in 1970 for the new National Presbyterian Church building on Nebraska Avenue in Washington DC. The fronts were designed in collaboration with architect Harold Wagoner, designer of the church building.
  • The organ was overhauled in 1987. The console has been updated and expanded. A Solo division is prepared for this. The disposition was also changed: the Trumpet 16' and Trumpet 8' of Great were replaced by a Trumpet 8' and a Clairon 4'. Positiv's Gemshorn 2' was swapped with Swell's Octavin 2'. Furthermore, the Hautbois 8' from Choir moved to Swell, while the Choir Organ got a new Trumpet 8'. The Quinte 1 1/3' from Positiv was replaced by a Larigot. Finally, the State Trumpet of Great was placed on the Antiphonal Organ.
  • The organ from the former church building was transferred to the Capitol Hill United Methodist Church.
