Originally an independent pedal with four stops was planned, but this was not implemented. Joseph Merklin modified the organ at the end of the nineteenth century. Laurent Plet carried out a restoration in 1998-1999. The independent pedal is designed according to the original plan of Cavaillé-Coll. On November 14, 1999 the organ was put into use again with a concert by Kurt Lueders.
