One of the oldest organs stands in the world is in the Basilica of Saint Peter in Bologna. It was built by Lorenzo da Prato in the years 1471-1475. Giovanni Facchetti modified the organ in 1528-1531, and expanded it. In the centuries that followed, the organ was overhauled and rebuilt several times. From 1974 to 1982 the Tamburini company carried out a restoration. The situation of 1531 has been reconstructed. The only changes from later times that have been retained are the Flauto in XII from 1563 and the Tiratutti from 1852.
