Het orgel in de kerk van Saint John the Evangelist in Islington is oorspronkelijk gebouwd door Bishop, Starr & Richardson in 1852, en werd door dezelfde bouwers in 1858 uitgebreid. J.W. Walker bouwde het instrument in 1963 om in Noord-Europese stijl. Het orgel werd uitgebreid met een rugpositief en voorzien van een nieuwe orgelkas. Adviseur bij de nieuwbouw was Shaun MacCarthy. Op 13 februari 1963 gaf Douglas Mews een concert ter gelegenheid van de ingebruikname. In 1991 is het orgel gerestaureerd door Keith Bance.
