In 1981 voltooide de firma Späth uit Rapperswil, Sankt Gallen, een nieuw groot orgel voor de Peter-und-Paulkirche in Zürich. Het vierklaviers instrument telt 74 stemmen. Adviseurs bij de bouw waren Emil Bächtold, Felix Gubser, Eduard Kaufmann en Erich Vollenwyder. Het orgel is geïntoneerd door Martin Pflüger en Hubert Zemp.
