In the spring of 1991, a new Symphony Hall was opened in Birmingham. An organ facade was also present in the main hall, but the organ itself had yet to be built. The German company Klais built the large four-manual work with 82 stops. It was inaugurated on October 19, 2001 with a concert by Thomas Trotter.
