- In 1870 the brothers Elias and Georg Hook built an organ for the First Unitarian Church in Woburn, Massachusetts. The organ was in use without any modifications until the building closed in 1991. In that year the church closed its doors due to the lack of visitors. The organ now came into the hands of the Organ Clearing House. Preserving and relocating the organ was very important, as it is one of the few Hook's instruments that has been preserved in the original state.
- The church congregation in Berlin-Kreuzberg was interested and bought the organ in the summer of 1991. After this it took some time before the construction could begin. The Eule company restored the organ in 2000 and 2001 and placed it in the Kirche Zum Heiligen Kreuz. Eule constructed a new organ case, because the organ in Woburn had no case. The original prospect could be reused.
- Due to renovation works in the church building, the organ was packed in 2020. The pipework has been transferred to the workshop of the company Schulte Orgelbau, where it is cleaned and refurbished. The organ will be relocated again in 2021. A number of improvements will also be made to make the sound more optimal.
