Het orgel van de kerk in Absam is door gebouwd in twee fasen. Johann Anton Fuchs bouwde het hoofdwerk in 1776-1780, waarna het in 1799 is uitgebreid met een rugpositief door Andreas Mauracher. Om het te kunnen plaatsen werd het interieur van de kerk ingrijpend gewijzigd. In 1841 plaatste Josef Aigner een grotendeels nieuw orgel in de oude kassen. In 1948 restaureerde Johann Pirchner het orgel. Hierbij werd de dispositie gewijzigd, met de bedoeling de situatie van 1799 te herstellen. Inmiddels bleken de uitgangspunten niet juist, en is in 2002/2003 een nieuw restauratie uitgevoerd door Christian Erler. Daarbij werd de intonatie verzorgd door de firma Vier Orgelbau.
