Het orgel bevat ouder materiaal: Orgelkas uit 1676 van Renatus Harris
Renatus Harris bouwde in 1676 een orgel voor de kathedraal van Newcastle. Het orgel stond op de scheiding van koor en schip van de kerk met twee fronten. In 1749 werd het door John Snetzler verbouwd. T.C. Lewis verplaatste het orgel in 1882 naar het noordertransept. Het oude oost-front breidde hij uit met twee zijtorens. Het oude west-front bleef gehandhaafd, en keek nu naar de Saint George's-kapel. Harrison & Harrison plaatsten in 1911 een nieuwe speeltafel. In 1981 is het orgel herbouwd door Nicholson. Hierbij werd het aangesloten op het koororgel.
