  • In 1905 the Sauer company built a new pneumatic organ in the historic organ case of the Sankt Laurentii-Kirche in Itzehoe. This case was made in 1719 by Arp Schnitger. The organ was overhauled and modified several times after 1905. In 1976 Franz Grollmann restored the organ and expanded it with a fourth manual.
  • Since 2000 the organ has had a separate console with one manual and pedal, with which the remaining stops of Schnitger, extended with a Principal 4' and a Principal 2', can be played. This installation was constructed by Heinz Hoffmann. These two stops can also be played from the fourth manual of the large console. The organ also has an "organ frog", that sounds when you switch on the two lowest tones of the Ranket 16'.
