- The monastery of Unser Lieben Frau in Magdeburg was partially destroyed in the Second World War. After the war, the building was largely restored and converted into a museum. The large abbey church was used as a concert hall. A new organ was installed on the site of the former high altar, built by the East German firm Jehmlich in 1979. The organ has two positive organs (Rückpositive). The instrument is the firm's opus 1000. The building is baptised Konzerthalle "Georg Philipp Telemann". The organ was inaugurated on September 21, 1979.
- In 1995 the Jehmlich company carried out a major overhaul, in which the organ was expanded and re-voiced.
