The organ of the St. Nicholas Church in Moere was built by Pieter Van Peteghem for the previous church of Moere, dating from 1776. In the years 1858-1860 a neo-gothic building was erected, to which the organ was transferred. The instrument was restored by the firm of Loncke in 1973-1974. It had been out of use since 1951 due to its condition.
