Built by: John Brombaugh & Co. (1986) - opus 27
In 1986 Brombaugh delivered a special organ to the Ackerman Recital Hall at Southern College of Seventh-day Adventists in Collegedale, Tennessee. The instrument has short octave keyboards, with the pedal and the main manual also having sub-semitones. The Sesquialter has a two-position register puller. At half position, the Quinte 3' sounds with full keyboard size. However, when the knob is pulled fully, the Sesquialter will sound from either b° or c'. This choice can be made with a mechanical circuit in the organ case of the Brustwerk. The instrument was inaugurated in April 1986 with concerts by Harald Vogel and Bill Porter. The organ in the Fairchild Chapel in Oberlin is a sister instrument of this organ.
