Built by: Paul Fritts (1996) - opus 18
In 1995/1996, Paul Fritts built a large three-manual organ for Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. The instrument is designed in German-Dutch classical style, but the reeds are more in French style. The Baarpfeife 8' on the Rückpositiv is a copy of the Violin di Gamba from the organ of the Grote Kerk in Alkmaar. The organ case is inspired by the historic case of the organ in Stralsund, Germany, made by Stellwagen in the years 1653-1659. The consultant on the construction was David Dahl, organist at the university.
