- In 1949, the company Wangerin Organ Co. from Milwaukee installed an organ in the Roman Catholic Saint James Church in Madison. This instrument was in poor condition in 1985. The organ maker J.C. Taylor advised not to have it repaired, but to look for a replacement instrument. Through the Organ Clearing House people could buy an organ from the company Wadsworth, coming from England. It was built in 1863 for the Park Road Wesleyan Chapel in Chorley. Wadsworth completely rebuilt the organ in 1893.
- An antiques dealer from Texas bought the organ around 1980 and brought it to the United States. The majority of the pipework is original. Taylor added a new Trombone 16' to the pedal organ, and furthermore he made a construction on the Great Organ: the drawer of the Twelfth 2 2/3' when fully pulled out is a Sesquialter, and that of the Fifteenth 2' is a Mixture 4 ranks. The other three pedal stops have been taken from the builder's stock: an Open Diapason 16' from 1911 by Hann, Wangerin & Weickhardt from Sheboygan, a Bourdon 16' from Wangerin from Neenah and an Octave 8' from the previous Saint James Church organ. The Open Diapason 8' by Swell also comes from this instrument.
