Gebaut von: Zacharias Hildebrandt (1723)
The organ in the village church of Störmthal was built by Zacharias Hildebrandt in the years 1722 and 1723. It might have been designed by Gottfried Silbermann. On November 2, 1723, the instrument was inspected by Johann Sebastian Bach. It was overhauled by Urban Kreutzbach in 1840. During the First World War the front pipes were requisitioned. In 1934 Hermann Eule installed new pipes. He also restored the rest of the organ and added a Posaune 16' to the Pedal. Finally, the pitch was lowered from 466 Hz to 440 Hz. The organ was overhauled and cleaned by VEB Orgelbau in 1974. The instrument was restored in 2008 by Hermann Eule Orgelbau. The original situation of 1723 has been reconstructed. A new tremulant (on the entire work) was made.
