- The Frederiksborg Castle Chapel houses a historic organ, built in 1610 by Compenius for the Duke of Hesse, Heinrich Julius von Braunschweig-Lüneburg. The instrument has 27 stops. The manual range is from E to c''', the pedal range from D to Dis', but without the Dis. After the duke's death, his widow Elisabeth von Braunschweig gave the instrument to her brother, King Christian IV of Denmark, in 1616, who had it set up in Frederiksborg Castle. Aristide Cavaillé-Coll restored the organ in 1895.
- In 1985 the windchest of the Hauptwerk was restored by Jürgen Ahrend. Mads Kjersgaard restored the rest of the organ in 1988.
