In 1804-1806 Ignaz Kober built a new organ for the monastery church in Heiligenkreuz. For the construction he used parts of the old choir organ from 1746, built by Wimmola. The 'Hoornwerk' of the organ was made in 1722 by Ferdinand Römer. This hoornwerk plays a triad in C major. In 1883 Christian Erler worked on the organ. He simplified the mechanics. The organ stood on a gallery on the west side of the nave. In 1950 it was moved to the north transept, on the church floor. The old organ gallery has been demolished, so that the Romanesque nave has been restored to its original state. In 1997 the organ was restored by Helmut Allgäuer.
