The organ that the Flentrop company built for the Cathedral of the Holy Name in Chicago is the largest instrument in the company's history. It was completed in 1989 and was inaugurated on July 19, 1989. During the celebration, it was played by three organists: Lawrence Tremsky, Randall Swanson and Jan Jongepier. The first concert, played by Jan Jongepier, followed on 20 July. The carving of the prospect was made by Mr G.W. de Wit from Waddinxveen. The organ was donated to the church by Alice O'Malley Robinson in memory of her late husband, William Dunwoody Robinson.
