Built by: Johann Nepomuk Holzhey (1776)
The main organ of the abbey church in Ursberg was manufactured in 1775-1776 by Johann Nepomuk Holzhey. It was dedicated in the spring of 1776. In the course of the nineteenth century many changes were made to the organ. The original reeds disappeared, as well as the wind supply, keyboards, parts of the action and part of the front pipes. Fortunately, no new interior was installed at the beginning of the twentieth century, but the old work was further preserved. In 1969 Kubak carried out a restoration. An attempt was made to reconstruct the old disposition. In 1999 Klais completed a new restoration. The organ has been restored according to new insights and may have come even closer to the original structure.
