In 1686 bouwde Renatus Harris een nieuw hoofdorgel voor de kathedraal van Hereford. Het instrument werd echter in de negentiende eeuw verschillende keren verbouwd. In 1892/1893 bouwde Henry Willis & Sons een grotendeels nieuw orgel achter het oude front. Adviseur bij de bouw was de organist van de kerk, dr. G.R. Sinclair. Het orgel kreeg vier manualen en pedaal en 65 stemmen. Uit het oude orgel werd weinig pijpwerk overgenomen. In 1978 is het orgel door Harrison & Harrison omgebouwd. De dispositie is hierbij gewijzigd.
