- The organ in the Sint Machariuskerk in Laarne was built in 1672 by Nicolas Langlez. The organ had ten stops on one manual, and also a Nightingale. The organ case was made by Jan Huylyn from Ghent. The instrument was renovated and modified in 1712 by Louis De la Haije. Modifications have also been made by various members of the Van Peteghem family.
- In 1926 the classical instrument was lost when Louis Daem-De Vis & Zn. from Appelterre built a pneumatic two-manual organ in the old case. Lucky enough, much of the old pipework was reused.
- Advised by Gabriël Loncke, the company L. Verschueren from Heythuysen reconstructed the Langlez organ in 1981 and 1982. Because there was a strong wish for a two-manual organ, Verschueren designed a positive in the style of Langlez, following the example of the treaty of Langlez with the Sint Michielskerk in Ghent. Although the organ sounds and looks old again, it is more than 80 percent new. The organ has no pedal. On November 19, 1982 it was put back into service.
