• In 1743 Andries Berger built a small organ without a pedal for the Sint Martinus church in Loppem. From 1870 the church was provided with a new neo-gothic interior. Louis Hooghuys also built a new organ. The old organ was dismantled in 1868 and was subsequently purchased by a rich lady from Heule, who had it placed by Hooghuys in the chapel of Heule-Watermolen. Hooghuys restored the organ, replacing the Cornet with a Viola di Gamba and the Trumpet with a Flûte Traversière.
  
• In 1980 the organ was restored by Frans Loncke under the advice of J. Marichal. The original stop list has been restored. In 1988 a fire raged in the church, but did not destroy the organ. The instrument was subsequently restored by the Loncke company from Zarren.
