- The baroque Sankt Michaelskirche in Munich was largely destroyed during the war. After the rebuilding, the old organ case of Johan Hörmann from 1697 turned out to be useful for the construction of a new organ. This instrument was built by Hubert Sandtner in 1983.
- In 2009, the Rieger company was commissioned to restore and expand the organ. On October 30, 2010 the instrument was put back into use with a concert by Peter Kofler. The organ has four manuals and pedal and 75 stops. The Solo work consists of two high-pressure registers, which can be used on any manual.
