- On August 24, 1745, the contract was signed for the construction of a new organ for the Evangelische Kirche in Nassau by Gottfried Silbermann. Under the contract, the organ would be delivered on November 11, 1746. However, due to various circumstances, it was only possible to start building the organ in the church in 1748 and it was inspected on August 4, 1748.
- The organ survived the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries without major changes. In 1928 Johannes Jahn installed an electric wind blower. On the advice of Arthur Eger, cathedral organist in Freiburg, a pedal coupler was installed in 1960. Despite the fact that the organ was constantly maintained and tuned normally, a thorough restoration turned out to be necessary. This was carried out in 1998 by Jehmlich Orgelbau.
