The organ in the church of Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges was built around 1550 by an unknown organ builder. It was converted and extended in 1760 by Jean-François Lépine. Lépine also installed a Positif de Dos. In 1830, the instrument, badly damaged during the French Revolution, was repaired by François Daublaine. The positive was removed and replaced by a second manual in the main organ case. This work was carried out on the advice of Mr Garravé, organist of the church. In 1896 the instrument was rebuilt again, this time by the company Magen & Fils. Jean-Pierre Swiderski carried out a reconstruction of the organ from 1761 in the years 1975-1981.
