- De grote tempel van de Mormonen in Salt Lake City bevat één van de grootste orgels ter wereld. Het werd in 1867 gebouwd door de Engelse bouwer Joseph Ridges. In 1885-1886 herbouwde Niels Johnson het orgel, dat daarna 57 stemmen had, verdeeld over vier klavieren en pedaal. Johnson was een zweedse Mormoon, en het orgel was zijn enige werkstuk. Hij kwam te overlijden op 29 mei 1886, vlak voor de ingebruikneming van het orgel. In de jaren 1900, 1915 en 1948/1949 is het vergroot door Aeolian-Skinner.
- Eind 2021 is de installatie uitgevoerd van het Virtuoso Control System door de firma Integrated Organ Technologies. Dit is een computergestuurd combinatiesysteem.
