In 1653, Louis Bis and Pierre Destré built a new organ in the church's aisle in the Saint Bavo's Cathedral in Ghent. Jacques Sauvage made the beautiful case. After various renovations, including by Nicolas Langlez, Jean-Baptiste de Forceville and Pieter Van Peteghem, the interior was replaced in 1913 by a pneumatic organ by Georges Cloetens from Brussels. This organ was dedicated on October 22, 1913. On this occasion it was played by the organist of the church, Emile De Groote, and the organ builder himself.
In 1935 a new organ was installed, made by Klais for the banquet hall of the World Exhibition in Brussels. This instrument was placed in the choir, and linked to the old organ by Klais. On September 30, 1936, the completely renewed five-manual console was inaugurated with a concert by Emile De Groote, organist of the cathedral, and Flor Peeters, organist in Mechelen.
