The organ of the Marienkirche in Loxstedt was built from 1767-1771 by Johann Matthias Schreiber. He partly used older pipe work. Schreiber died during the work. In 1786 the organ was expanded by Georg Wilhelm Wilhelmy, and in 1789 Johann Witzmann renewed the wind chests. Alfred Führer restored the work in 1983. Both manuals still have an open space on the windchest.
In 2015 a restoration was carried out by Jörg Bente.
