Naar ontwerp van Egon Eiermann is in de jaren 1961/1962 een nieuwe Kaiser Wilhelm Gedächtniskirche gebouwd, tegen de ruïne van de in 1943 verwoest oude kerk aan. De firma Schuke leverde in 1962 een groot vierklaviers orgel. Adviseur bij de bouw was Siegfried Reda. Het instrument is in 2005 door Schuke gerestaureerd. De tractuur is hierbij vernieuwd. De dispositie van het Schwellwerk werd gewijzigd en uitgebreid. Ook zijn sub- en superoctaafkoppels geplaatst.
