Built by: Rieger Orgelbau (1991)
After the restoration of war damage of the Vienna Stephansdom, J.M. Kauffmann built a large organ on the west side with 125 stops, electric action and cone chests. When Peter Planyavsky was appointed organist in 1969, it soon became clear that this organ was not very satisfying. The plans for a large new organ were realized in 1991 with an instrument from the company Rieger, which, however, is set up in the choir of the church. The organ was inaugurated on September 13, 1991, followed by a concert by Peter Planyavsky and Hans Haselböck.
