YearBuilderOpusActivity
1761 Johann Andreas Silbermann  new organ
ca. 1900 Weigle Orgelbau  rebuild
1962 Oskar Metzler & Söhne321 reconstruction
2005 Alfred Kern & fils  restoration

The organ in the Stiftskirche of Arlesheim is the only Silbermann organ in Switzerland. It was completed in 1761. At the end of the nineteenth century, Weigle modified the instrument in a romantic style. The Metzler company restored it in the years 1959-1962 and reconstructed the original situation. The Silbermann organ from Temple Neuf in Strasbourg was used as an example. In 2005 the organ was again thoroughly overhauled by the company Kern. All windchests have been restored and the pipes have been cleaned and tuned. With a week of celebrations from 19 to 23 October 2005, the organ was put back into use.
