- The Conservatory in Oberlin and the Dutch firm Flentrop had a good relationship since the sixties of the twentieth century. Flentrop supplied various study organs. Dirk Andries Flentrop received an honorary doctorate from the university in 1968. Thanks to donations from Frank Chapman and Grace Langeland, Flentrop was commissioned to build a large concert organ in the Warner Concert Hall. The instrument was dedicated to the memory of George Whitfield Andrews, former institute teacher. On November 22, 1974, the organ was opened with a concert by Marie-Claire Alain with works by Buxtehude, Böhm, Bruhns and J.S. Bach.
- Taylor & Boody revised the organ in 1986. They rebuilt the mechanics of the positive and renewed the pedal reeds.
