In 1996, in the village of Battipaglia in Serano, some 70 km from Naples, a new organ was inaugurated in the Iglesia de S. Maria della Speranza. This happened during the second simposium on the Italian organ in Naples, where the instrument was played by Harald Vogel, Jean Boyer and Andrea Marcon. The organ was built by Glauco Ghilardi from Lucca, who worked on the instrument for two years. It is built in North German Baroque style. However, no organ has been used as an example, but it was designed on the basis of the principles that were also applied at the time.
