Demolished (1912)

  • The Reformed Church in De Meern, which was in use until 1912, was an old chapel, partly dating from the fifteenth century. This chapel was used for Protestant services from 1634. There was never a pipe organ in the chapel until 1891. In that year an old cabinet organ was bought from Spit, organ maker in Utrecht, to replace a pressure wind reed organ. This cabinet organ was replaced in 1903 by another organ. It is not known who built it and where it came from. It was put into service on August 30, 1903.
  • Because the chapel had become too small, it was demolished in 1912. A new church was built on the same site, which is still standing. The organ from 1903 has not been transferred.
