- In 2014 preparations started for the construction of a second organ in the Lutheran Church in Groningen. The instrument is a reconstruction of the former organ that Arp Schnitger built for this church in 1699. Bernhardt Edskes carried out the construction. The original organ was expanded in 1717 with an independent pedal. This year's situation is the starting point for the new instrument.
- The organ case is a copy of the case of the Schnitger organ in Pellworm. Two music-making angels are placed, that are remains from the original Schnitger organ that stood in the church until 1896. Another special feature is that Edskes has realized a second keyboard, of which six registers can be played. This so-called continuo keyboard can be used to work from behind the organ with other musicians or singers. The organ was put into use on October 31, 2017, with a recital by Tymen Jan Bronda.
