- In the Gereformeerde Kerk in Steenwijk a new organ was installed in 1953, built by the company Valckx & Van Kouteren. Consultant was Henk Pijlman, organist of the Grote Kerk in Meppel.
- In January 2009 it was decided that the church building would eventually be taken out of use, in connection with the fusion within the Protestantse Kerk Nederland. The church building was offered for sale in 2014. The organ was transfered to a church in Letland in 2015.
