- Pels & Van Leeuwen built a new organ as their opus 700 for the Vrijheidskerk in Alkmaar. The organ was inaugurated on June 13, 1969 with a recital by Jan Jongepier. The instrument has 21 stops on two manuals and pedal, but there are only eight ranks. The company Elbertse carried out repairs in 1986.
- Major maintenance was carried out on the organ in October and November 2020 by Orgelbouw Alkmaar (Hans Martin). All pipework was removed, cleaned and repaired where necessary. Re-voicing has also been carried out by Frans Vermeulen, to create a less sharp sound image. The highest choir of the Mixtuur-Scherp unit combination has been stopped. The 18 largest shells of the Trumpet 8' have been extended from half to full length. The seven largest pipes had to be cropped to make them fit in the organ case.
