- When a new parish church of Sint Salvius was consecrated in Limbricht in 1922, the old medieval church was closed for services, but not demolished. Part of the old interior also remained. The organ was also left behind. The instrument had originally been built for the monastery on the Agnetenberg in Sittard, which was closed during the French period in 1802. The pastor of Limbricht received the instrument free of charge, and had it adapted by Binvignat and placed in the church. Although the builder is unknown, there is much to suggest that it originates from the Verhofstadt school, possibly from his collaborator Theodorus Schiffers. Brammertz and Gilman are also being considered. It dates from the beginning of the eighteenth century. It was restored and modified by the Franssen brothers in 1845.
- The old church was restored in the eighties of the twentieth century. The organ, still present, was in a deplorable condition, and Verschueren was commissioned to carry out a reconstruction. Much pipework had disappeared. The organ in the Reformed Church in Donkerbroek, built by Verhofstadt and Schiffers, was used as an example for the new pipework to be made. Hans van der Harst was the consultant for the work. During the restoration, research on the organ revealed that the builder has to be Johan-Jacob Brammertz. The organ was inaugurated on November 24, 1989. Jacques van Oortmerssen played a presentation concert on December 2nd, 1989.
