- The Reformed Church of Minnertsga burned down completely in 1947. The Hinsz organ from 1778 was lost. In 1955 an old organ was installed, which was acquired from the church of Welsrijp (Friesland). The year 1785 is carved in the organ case. The instrument was probably made for a church in Vreren (Belgium), near Tongeren. According to Hans van der Harst and Klaas Bolt, it has characteristics of the Liège school (Robustelly, Le Picard, Graind'Orge). Ultimately, on the basis of various features discovered during the most recent restoration, it was determined that Guillaume Robustelly must have been the builder of the organ. The organ was sold by Pereboom & Leijser, who had built a new organ for the Sint Medardus Church in Vreren in 1873.
- The organ was purchased in 1874 and was placed in the Reformed Church of Welsrijp by Eeltje Ypma. He modified the disposition, expanded the keyboard compass to 56 keys and moved the keyboard to the side. The organ builders Vaas & Bron installed the organ in the church of Minnertsga in 1955, after a new organ from Pels had been put into use in Welsrijp. The Flentrop company overhauled the organ in 1970, under consultancy of Klaas Bolt. In 1983 it was in a virtually unplayable condition. An electronic organ was used in the church.
- Flentrop Orgelbouw restored the instrument in 2000. Consultant was Jan Jongepier. The organ was put back into service on April 28, 2001. During the restoration, the organ case was completely restored to its original form, retaining the upper decorations from 1874. The keyboard has been completely reconstructed in the original style, but the compass has been maintained. The pedal did regain its original compass. Four registers have been reconstructed, one register from 1874 has expired. The pitch of 1874 has been maintained.
