  • On March 8, 1877, the board of the Dutch Reformed Congregation in Voorburg received a letter, in which it was stated that Princess Marianne had ordered a new organ for the Oude Kerk from the Fa. Bätz & Co. The old organ in the church, built by Lambertus van Dam in 1806, was (mainly due to poor maintenance) not in a very good condition. The new instrument was therefore gratefully accepted. On July 25, 1878, the old irgan was removed from the church, with the exception of the statues. The new Witte organ was inaugurated on April 14, 1879. In 1895 the organ was cleaned by Witte.
  • In both 1954 and 1959 there were plans to sell the organ and replace it with a new contemporary instrument. Those plans were not carried out, due to the high costs. A revision of the organ was therefore carried out by the company Flentrop under the advice of mr. A. van Beek in 1968. They installed a new Woudfluit 2'at the second manual on this occasion.
  • A major restoration was carried out in 1975/1976 by Hendriksen and Reitsma under the advice of the organist of the church, Wim van der Panne. The organ was put back into use on February 14, 1976. During this restoration a new coupler between the second manual and the pedal was added. Furthermore a tremulant was added and the some modification were made in the specification. The Violon 8' was replaced by a Quintadena, the Mixtuur was completely renewed, and a Terts and a Quint 1 1/2' (for manual II) could be made with the help of pipes from this Mixtuur. The second manual was enlarged with a new Nasard, and the pedal with a Schalmey 4'.
  • Some modifications were altered in 2000: The Terts was replaced with a Cornet III sterk in 2000, the Quinte 1 1/3' was shifted to a new Terts, and the Mixtuur and Octaaf 2' were adapted.
  • The organ has been restored again in 2020-2021 by Martin Butter and Sander Booij, under the direction of Dirk Bakker. Besides the complete technical renovation, the Mixtuur and Viola have been reconstructed. A new Cornet V sterk has been installed, constructed according to the Witte Cornet of the Lutheran Church in Utrecht. The organ was inaugurated again on January 24, 2021.
