- The Sint Gertrudiskerk in Wijlre was built in the years 1835-1839 to a design by Aloys Klausner from Aachen. Around 1860 the Müller brothers were instructed to build an organ with two manuals and an independent pedal. This plan was implemented in two steps: in 1862 main work and pedal were delivered. In 1875 the positive was added. The builders used partly older pipe work.
- During work in 1940, three stops were changed on the advice of Marius Monnikendam: the Cornet of the Hoofdwerk was replaced by a Tert 1 3/5', and of the Positive the Fernflaut 8' (soprano) and the Euphon 8' were replaced by a (pneumatic) Voix Celeste 8' and a Krummhorn 8'. The pipework of the Fernflaut was preserved in the case. This stop was re-installed by Verschueren in 1979. The Cornet has been reconstructed using the Müller-Cornet from Brunssum. The replacement of an Euphon was not considered useful, and there was no longer any example. The Krummhorn has been replaced by a Hautbois 8' in the soprano. The bass has been preserved. Hans van der Harst was the advisor for this restoration. The instrument was restored again in 1998.
