  • In 1851 Frans Louvigny built a new organ for the Carolus Chapel in Roermond. He was inspired by the Le Picard organ in the cathedral. It has long been thought that the Carolus organ was built around 1740 by Le Picard, but research carried out during the last restoration has shown this to be incorrect. The Müller brothers made an independent pedal (1876), and Vermeulen (1888), Franssen (1900) and Pereboom (1927) also worked on the organ.
  • In 1953 the organ was completely overhauled by Verschueren from Heythuizen. They renewed part of the pipework, but also retained a lot of old material from almost all builders. The work was completed in November 1953 and put into use during a festive weekend from Friday, November 20 to Sunday, November 22, 1953. Consultant was Pierre Zeyen from Kerkrade. During the opening, Marinus Waltmans, organist of the seminary, and Henri Zeyen, organist of the cathedral, played the new organ.
  • In 2004 a restoration was started by the company Verschueren. The organ was rebuilt in eighteenth century style using the existing material, expanded with new pipework. On April 30, 2006, the organ was rededicated.
