On September 11, 1996, a new organ was inaugurated in the Hervormde Kerk (Reformed Church) in Hekendorp. Consultant was Herman van Vliet, and the builder was Ide Boogaard from Rijssen. The organ case dates from about 1845. The original location is unknown, and it's also unknown who built this instrument. The old organ was placed in Hekendorp in 1887 by A. Uittenboogaart, who lived in nearby Oudewater. The organ was demolished before the Second World War, except for the organ case with prospect pipes. After this several harmoniums and later electronic organs were used.
