1971 Orgelmakerij Reil  restoration

  • After years of singing without an organ, it was decided in 1848 to have an organ built for the Hervormde Kerk (Dutch Reformed Church) in Dalen. The company Scheuer & Zn. was commissioned with this task. The instrument was built in 1849/1850, and inaugurated on Tuesday, August 6, 1850. It only had one manual when it was delivered, because there was not enough money to have the second manual built. In 1856 Van Oeckelen was commissioned to build a second keyboard as a positive. On Sunday November 4, 1857, the now completed organ was put back into use.
  • Refurbishments took place in 1907 and 1920. Bik made the wind supply electric in 1946. Part of the Flageolet was also replaced by narrower pipes. A restoration took place in 1969-1971 by J. Reil under the advice of Klaas Bolt. It was put back into service on Saturday 13 November 1971. In 1977 the organ was painted in its current red color. Originally it was white, and then rosewood for a long time.
  • Somewhere between 2011 and 2020 the prospect has been modified slightly: the green panels behind the carvings on both sides were removed, and the upper ornaments were painted white instead of green.
