Joseph Loncke was the son of Frederick Loncke and the grandson of Pieter Loncke. As the third generation in the company Loncke, he expanded the company into one of the most important Flemish organ building companies. His brother Pieter (1901-2001) was also employed by the firm. Since the retirement of Frederick in 1924, the company was lead by them. They were one of the first in Belgium to orient themselves on the old organ building principles from the Baroque. They also collaborated with the German firm Klais. Joseph's son Gerard continued the business in 1958 in the same tradition, but without changing the name.
