Flemish organ builder. Son of Petrus-Joannes Sr. (1769-1855) and Catharina de Bruyn, born in Mespelare in 1803. He became a furniture maker, but was very interested in music. His uncle Alexander Vereecken knew about organ building and probably taught him the most important things. In 1845 he built a small organ, after which he was asked to maintain and repair organs in the area around his hometown of Gijzegem. The first major work was in the Sint Amandus Church in Iddergem in 1857. He worked here together with his son Felix. Four sons worked in the organ making business: Felix, Joannes, Lodewijk and Petrus. After Petrus-Joannes' death in 1889, his sons continued the company. The end of the company came during the First World War. The last work, an unfinished instrument, was sold in 1921 to organ builder Daem from Appelterre, who finished it. The studio was sold in 1924. A total of about sixty organs were made.
